Am 8. Februar 2026 jährt sich der Geburtstag von Paula Modersohn-Becker zum 150. Mal. Das Paula Modersohn-Becker Museum, das zusammen mit den Beständen der Paula-Modersohn-Becker-Stiftung die umfangreichste öffentliche Sammlung ihrer Werke besitzt, nimmt dieses Jubiläum zum Anlass für eine große Sonderausstellung, die zeigt, wie die Malerin schon seit ihrer Studienzeit ihren eigenen, freien und selbstständigen künstlerischen Weg ging. Neben den berühmten Bildern ihrer letzten Lebensjahre rückt die Ausstellung darüber hinaus erstmals die Rezeption der Malerin im 20. und 21. Jahrhundert in den Fokus.

The 8^th of February 2026 marks the 150th anniversary of Paula Modersohn-Becker's birth. The Paula Modersohn-Becker Museum, which together with the inventory of the Paula Modersohn-Becker Foundation possesses the most extensive public collection of her works, is celebrating this anniversary with a major special exhibition that shows how the painter, ever since her student days, pursued her own free and independent artistic path. In addition to the famous paintings made during the last years of her life, the exhibition focuses on the reception of the painter in the 20th and 21st centuries, formally introducing the topic for the first time.
