Statement der Künstlerin
Ich habe Platzangst und ich fühle mich eingeengt. Auch draußen gibt es kein Licht, sondern nur Dunkelheit. Wo ist die Luft zum Atmen? Existenzielle Kälte breitet sich in mir aus. Wie Schüttelfrost, nur ohne Fieber. Sie höhlt mich aus. Gibt es mich überhaupt noch? Ein Nebel, der sich ums Gehirn legt.
Es riecht nach Moos und Feuchtigkeit. Wasser perlt die Steinwände herab. Teil der Höhle werden. Teil der Höhle sein.
Artist Statement
I'm claustrophobic and I feel cramped. There is no light outside either, only darkness. Where is the air to breathe? An existential cold spreads through me. Like chills, only without the fever. It hollows me out. Do I still exist at all? A fog settles around my brain.
It smells of moss and damp. Water rolls down the stone walls. Becoming part of the cave. Being part of the cave.
Biografie / Biography
Monika Allesch (*1996) ist in Bayern geboren und aufgewachsen. Nachdem sie ihren Abschluss in Kommunikationsdesign an der HS Augsburg gemacht hat, kam sie nach Bremen, wo sie seit 2021 in der Klasse Katrin von Maltzahn an der HfK Bremen Freie Kunst studiert. Sie arbeitet mit unterschiedlichen Medien, vor allem aber mit Malerei, Radierung, Text und Fotografie.
Monika Allesch (*1996) was born and raised in Bavaria. After graduating in communication design from Augsburg University of Applied Sciences, she moved to Bremen, where she is studying fine art in the class of Katrin von Maltzahn at the HfK Bremen since 2021. She works with different media, but mainly with painting, etching, text and photography.
